COVID-19 response

COVID-19 is a rapidly evolving situation impacting us all. Warakirri is closely monitoring developments and putting in place measures to ensure the health and safety of our employees, business partners and our clients.

We are actively monitoring the situation and the advice from the Australian Government and health authorities and will follow all necessary precautions as advised. We have formed a COVID-19 Executive Response Team which meets frequently to monitor updates and implement any necessary measures.

From today, our office will be open, but on a limited basis. We have asked staff to work remotely wherever possible unless working in the office is essential and there are no appropriate alternative arrangements.

Some additional actions we have taken include:
  • Regular communications with employees regarding travel and health-safety guidance
  • Compulsory self-quarantine of 14 days for employees returning from international travel
  • Restricted interstate travel for business purposes
  • Additional hygiene materials available in employee and client areas
  • Postponement of events, and advising our employees to adhere to Australian Government 'social distancing' measures
  • Increasing the frequency of our internal cleaning schedules
  • Implementing protocols to pre-clear visitors prior to their arrival at our office

We are still open to having in-person business and client meetings, however our preference is to have all meetings over the phone or via video conference.

We will have additional requirements for all visitors attending meetings on our premises. Clients and visitors who have travelled overseas within the past 14 days, come into close contact with a suspected or positive case of COVID-19 or are showing symptoms will be asked to conduct meetings by phone or video, rather than face-to-face.

Your relevant Warakirri contact will be in touch about any upcoming meetings to confirm arrangements considering these new measures, and to understand any restrictions that you and your business may have.

We want to assure you that while working remotely we are committed to maintaining our high-quality client service levels at all times. In December 2019, the Warakirri Board undertook a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) exercise and we will again conduct a BCP exercise this Thursday 19 March. We want to assure you that we have the capability to provide our clients with a ‘business as usual’ service and expect any disruption can be managed and kept to a minimum.

Our response has not been informed by any specific incidents of COVID-19 among our people or their contacts. This is the next step in our proactive response plan. As you would appreciate, our plans are subject to ongoing review and we will incorporate the most recent advice and respond to the specifics of the current situation as it develops.

Our number one priority remains to protect the health and wellbeing of our people, clients and communities. We will take every step necessary to keep our people safe, support our clients and safeguard the future of our business.
